Need it for video editing on a newspaper of Final Cut.
Answer:
Having bought several Macs, I would honestly say that the Apple Store is surely the best and only place you should be a mac, b/c they know the product and they support it awfully well. They enjoy a Genius Bar where you can bring surrounded by your computer whenever you want, and get facade to face systematic support for free. It's awesome.
If you get it from a box retailer close to a Best Buy or CompUSA or something, those guys are so PC brainwashed and probably have never touched a Mac surrounded by their life. I bought one from CompUSA a few years rear and it was the worst experience ever. Stick near Apple, trust me.
And buy refurbished if you want to save money, i go and get all my macs refurbed from apple's website.
Besides Apple, there's CompUSA and Fry's that I can regard of right off.
If you want to run OSX you want an Apple. You can also run Windows on it. If you do not want OSX, or a short time ago need to use a specific program that will work on both platforms, you can purchase a non apple laptop.
Apples sort attractive laptops, but there hold been feature control issues, and they charge a high premium for their products. If you use the laptop surrounded by a business environment, aside from the graphics and sound industries, most everyone uses the Wintel platform.
If you are solely using the laptop for Final Cut then by adjectives means attain the apple. The best place to buy apple products would be on eBay because that is the best road to get rid of an apple and get hold of some of your money back. Dumpsters may also be a appropriate place to look...
